EXCLUSIVE! “I’m blessed to step into Salman Khan’s shoes,” says Nirbhay Wadhwa on Tere Naam’s remake
Salman Khan’s most popular film, Tere Naam, has won accolades not just from the audience but at the box office as well. The 7 Filmfare award-winning film also marked the debut of Bhumika Chawla. Now, as per a report on TellyChakkar, there’s a remake in the making for 2003’s hit flick. First Step Entertainment is working on a one-of-its-kind short film that will be loosely inspired by the Satish Kaushik directorial. To play Khan’s on-screen character, Radhe Mohan, the makers have got on board TV actor, Nirbhay Wadhwa, who was last seen on Star Plus’ Qayamat Ki Raat.
When BollywoodLife got in touch with Wadhwa, who is best known for his role in Mahabharat, he confirmed the news to us. He further added, “For me the first thing that came to my mind was that I’ll be getting out of that mythological space. People can finally see my face unlike my previous shows,” The actor was seen in a prosthetic face in his last supernatural show. He further adds, “It is going to be fun as I can also show my body.
The actor would be reprising Khan’s character. Talking about that, he says, “I’m blessed to step into Salman Khan’s shoes. He is an inspiration. I have watched him since childhood, built a body like him. So I’m really happy.”
Nirbhay reveals that his character will also be named Radhe Mohan and will be tough from the exterior but soft inside. However, a major change in this story would be that this time there won’t be a girl in Radhe’s life. “There’s no girl but something else behind his obsession and madness, you’ll get to know once you watch it.”
